Mace

Mace is an international consultancy and construction company, offering highly integrated services across the full property lifecycle. Our experts in programme and project management, construction delivery, cost consultancy and facilities management thrive within our collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, constantly striving to find better solutions to complex infrastructure and property challenges.

Mace has now successfully completed Coventry’s £45m Ansty Park in the role of project manager. The scheme involved reclamation works to transform the 40 hectare former Ansty airfield site, on the outskirts of Coventry, into a fully serviced high specification business park. The site comprises approximately five large development plots and has an anticipated overall development value of £200m.

The project involved the carefully phased provision of earthworks, existing private spur road improvements, landscaping to large common areas and significant off site highway improvements.

The project required a high level of flexibility to enable additional requirements to be implemented on request from the potential site occupiers and key decision makers.

One of the project’s successes was the development of the multi-million pound remodelling and improvement contract to the A46 and M6 Junction 2 which was achieved through the collaboration of partners. Mace, through careful negotiation, agreed a programme, cost share mechanism and a joint design responsibility for the improvement works, which was reflected in the S278 agreement between Advantage West Midlands and the Highways Agency.

Working collaboratively from the outset with the clients, Advantage West Midlands, and the various stakeholders, Mace was able to identify the requirements and aspirations of the project to deliver the development on programme and on budget in August 2011.

Mace’s existing portfolio and legacy of projects in the Midlands reflects this commitment to delivering service excellence, and our client and project list shows Mace to be involved in some of the most complex of the region's high profile and important schemes, including Birmingham Eastside, Birmingham International Airport New Pier and Runway Extension, the NEC and Aston University. The Midlands team has also celebrated the successful delivery of projects such as Baskerville House, Millennium Point, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the LG Arena for the NEC.

Always expanding its portfolio of work, the Midlands regional team is also the appointed delivery partner, with network rail, on the £600m Birmingham Gateway project, transforming New Street Station into a modern transport hub and being responsible for the delivery of the new flagship John Lewis within the Pallasades Shopping Centre.

Our customers are at the core of what we do, and we continue to grow and expand to better serve their property needs across sectors and geographies. Our talented and professional people work alongside and as part of the client team, constantly asking challenging questions and driving value at every turn.
